Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) has announced the appointment of Bert Lurch and Michael Quattrucci to its Board of Directors.
Prior to joining the Board, both men have been involved with BBBSLI serving on the mentoring agency’s President’s Council. Bert Lurch is Co-Founder and CEO of E Central Medical Management (ECM), a full-service medical billing and practice management firm. Mike Quattrucci is Vice President of Sales at Red Hat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing technologies.
“We’re excited to have Bert Lurch and Mike Quattrucci join our Board of Directors. Their passion, excitement and business backgrounds will be a tremendous asset furthering our agency’s mission,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island CEO, Mark Cox. “We believe their experience will be invaluable to us, especially as we expand our services to serve more children across Long Island.”
Bert Lurch began his career at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, after graduating with a BS in management from SUNY Old Westbury. He went on to co-found ECM in 1999. Bert is active in the business and non-profit community, serving as president of the Health & Business Alliance, a consortium of healthcare, non-profit and business entities. He is also co-chair of the Queens Chamber of Commerce Health and Wellness Committee and is a member of the Long Island Elite (LIE). A father of two, he resides in Elmont.
“Since I began my association with BBBSLI, initially serving on the President’s Council, I have been impressed by the mission of the organization and dedication of the staff and volunteers,” said Bert Lurch. “I’m looking forward to being more fully involved in BBBSLI’s work as a way to promote diversity and make a meaningful difference in the lives of Long Island children.”
During his 12-year tenure at Red Hat Inc., Mike Quattrucci has helped lead explosive growth in North America, propelling the company to over 3 Billion in revenues. He has been involved with BBBSLI since 2017, has served on the President’s Council and has been active in many outings and events during this time. Mike is an active member of his community and has served on the executive planning committee for the American Heart Association’s STEM Goes Red initiative in NYC for the past two years.
“Becoming successful in life comes, in part, from the coaching and guidance we get from the support network around us, those who have already traveled the path and help keep us on it,” said Mike Quattrucci. “This organization is all about making sure children in our community, who otherwise might not have that same benefit, can reach the fullness of their potential. I cannot think of anything more important than being a defender of that potential.”
Mike holds both BA and MBA degrees from Hofstra University. He currently resides in Smithtown, NY with his wife, Samantha and two children, Alexandra and Daniel.
