Long Island, NY (August 2021) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) has announced the addition of Marlon Taylor, Vice President, New York & Atlantic Railway, to their Leadership Council, formerly known as their President’s Council.
“It is a joy finding and getting involved with a special organization, like BBBSLI. The work that the amazing staff and its volunteers do is near and dear to my heart. Being involved with BBBSLI is important to me because my life is filled with family and friends who have helped steer and guide my path. I am grateful for the opportunity to make an impact and hopefully change lives for the better.” Said Mr. Taylor.
Marlon Taylor was promoted to his current position in 2016. He began his railroad career at Anacostia’s Pacific Harbor Line (PHL) as a conductor in 1999. Through a series of promotions, he advanced through the ranks at PHL as locomotive engineer, train dispatcher, trainmaster, transportation manager, and director of operations. In early 2016, he relocated to New York to become New York & Atlantic’s assistant vice president.
“We’re excited to have Marlon join our Leadership Council. We believe his leadership and passion to give back, along with his professional involvement in areas of business we do not currently have much exposure, will be hugely beneficial.” Said Chief Development Officer, Meredith Michaels.
