On Tuesday, March 21st, 110 players kicked off Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island’s (BBBSLI) 2017 Poker & Networking Series at “Poker Night”. The event, presented by Clair S. Bartholomew & Son Funeral Home, raised $25,000 and was held at The Main Event in Farmingdale. Proceeds from “Poker Night” directly support BBBSLI’s mentoring programs and will assist the agency in its efforts to recruit more male volunteers for 400 boys that are currently waiting for Big Brothers.
“We’re here tonight, to raise funds needed to identify, recruit, and enroll Big Brothers. We need Big Brothers for the 400 families who have raised their hands to say they want help for their sons,” said BBBSLI Director of Development Jamison Skala. “Only some of you will take home a great prize, but ALL of you will leave here knowing that you’re responsible for changing hundreds of boys lives by helping us give them the Big Brothers they’ve been waiting for”.
David Cohen revealed the championship hand at the coveted final table. Bradley Siegel and Ryan Kadri finished in 2nd and 3rd Place, respectively. The top PRIZE was a $2,000 Travel Voucher to anywhere in the world. Second prize was an East End Getaway & Dinner in the Dunes, and the third-place winner claimed a twosome to BBBSLI’s June 5th Golf Tournament at The Muttontown Club.
