My favorite BBBSLI memory was the heartwarming moment when Louis and I met for the first time. The play on words were “You’re stuck with me forever” to convey the idea that he has become a cherished part of my life. At this unexpected moment, deep connections are formed, and it seems like you have found a special bond that will last a lifetime.
Being a part of the BBBSLI program has had such a positive impact on me and has made me more open-minded. Being present in someone else’s life and having a positive influence on them can indeed be a profound and fulfilling experience. The realization that even a small amount of time and effort can shape someone’s future is a testament to the power of human connection and kindness. It’s clear that I’ve found a sense of accomplishment and meaning in making a difference in others’ lives.
Having someone like Louis who depends on my guidance and support provides a meaningful and nurturing relationship. Being there for him during his junior high school years, helping him navigate the challenges of friends and teachers, is a valuable role I’ve taken on. My presence and support I believe has made a significant difference in his life, and it’s clear that we have formed a strong and special connection together.
Louis and I have shared many special moments, from hiking to enjoying a day at Splish Splash, and even attending a Broadway show. These moments have created lasting memories and strengthened the bond between us.
My favorite BBBSLI event was the Fashion Show. Seeing so many individuals, both “Bigs” and “Littles,” step out of their comfort zones and enjoy themselves on stage. It was such a joyful and uplifting moment.
It’s heartwarming to watch someone you care about grow and evolve as you share experiences together. What I love most about my Little is seeing the changes in his face and the way he reacts to various aspects of life. It’s a testament to the bond and connection we share, and it brings a deep sense of fulfillment and joy to witness his journey and be a part of it.
It’s clear that my Little and I have found plenty of meaningful activities and support through the program, making it a rewarding experience for us both. The dedication and the assistance of the BBBSLI staff is making a positive impact, not just on your Little’s life but on your own as well. It is truly not a burdensome relationship. The amount of time required to spend with the Little is still minimal and I wish more people would get involved.
