On October 6, 2021 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) hosted their 5th Annual Catwalk for Kids Fashion Show at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY. Guests gathered to watch 18 featured matches of mentors “Bigs” and children “Littles” light up the runway, modeling a range of looks provided by Macys, Savers, Mixology, Converse, Columbia and Marchon.
Kristin Thorne, WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News correspondent, entertained the crowd serving as the Fashion Show’s emcee. Big and Little matches modeled the latest styles from Model’s Choice, Sports Wear, Leisure Wear, Everyday Wear, Professional Attire and Evening Wear.
In its fifth year, BBBSLI’s Fashion Show offered attendees the opportunity to witness the fun and dynamic bonds shared between the Big and Little matches. The event also highlighted the positive impact the Bigs have had on their Littles’ increased confidence and self-esteem. Throughout the show, matches found creative ways to incorporate their unique personalities into their runway performances.
Big Sister Bianca shared “The venue was beautiful, the clothes were great as was the emcee & the crowd support boosted Nariah’s self-confidence. Her smile got bigger as the night went on. Thank you so much!”
A big thank you to the event’s corporate sponsors, Steve Madden, Dime Bank, Rosenthal & Rosenthal, Savers, Marchon, JPMorgran Chase & Co, Pink, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Events by DJ Rob. Thanks to all our event partners, Darby Dental, Columbia, Converse, Estee Lauder, Sir Speedy, Nassau Candy Distributors, Inc., Pink Wellness for Women, Ulta Beauty, Alvaro Barber Shop, Veronica Leiva Hair Styles and SmileyNY Entertainment.
