Volunteer Opportunity!
We are currently recruiting speakers to present safety education programs to children in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
We seek energetic, personable and enthusiastic individuals to join our award winning Safety Education Program.
Must be available during school hours and must relate well to children and be comfortable as a Public Speaker presenting in elementary, middle and high school classrooms. College students, retired teachers welcome.
Bi-Lingual a plus.
BBBSLI is based in Levittown, but speakers travel to schools throughout Nassau and Suffolk County presenting the following programs:
PLAYING IT SAFE, for children from Pre-K through Second grade, focuses on safety issues in and out of the home. Topics include: gun safety, stranger awareness and good and bad touch.
PLAYING IT SMART I & II
is the next level in educating children in grades 3 through 8. Issues include Abduction, Internet safety, and Cyberbullying.
TEEN PERSONAL SAFETY
for 9th and 10th graders focuses on two topic areas: Internet Safety and Computer “smarts” and Abusive Dating Relationships.
