On July 13th, supporters gathered at the Crest Hollow Country Club for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island’s (BBBSLI) Gala Kickoff Reception. The event raised nearly $100,000 for BBBSLI’s Annual Presidential Gala set to take place on October 5th at The Inn at New Hyde Park. In honor of the mentoring agency’s 40th Anniversary, this year’s Gala will feature a tribute to past Gala honorees.
The night included remarks from former Little Sister and scholarship recipient, Jessica, who talked about the positive impact BBBSLI’s mentoring program has had on her life. She shared the important role her Big Sister Nikki played in helping her achieve her goal of attending college this past fall to pursue a career in the automotive industry. Jessica proudly spoke about her plans for the future and shared her hope of becoming a Big Sister.
