10th Annual Hamptons Invitational Offshore Tournament
Friday, August 13, 2010
From August 13th through August 22nd The Shinnecock Marlin and Tuna Club (SMTC) will be holding its 10th annual Hamptons Invitational Offshore Tournament in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.
Why support the Annual Hamptons Invitational? Not only is this exciting tournament one of the largest and most successful on Long Island, it is a tournament driven by community spirit and good will. The huge success of last year’s tournament enabled the Shinnecock Marlin & Tuna Club, Inc. to make an impressive donation in excess of $100,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, saving its school based mentoring program in the Hampton Bays School District.
The Invitational is headquartered at Oakland's Restaurant and Marina in Hampton Bays. Anglers compete in Day and Offshore Categories drawing more than 50 boats annually. The event is kicked-off by a Captain's Meeting hosted by the SMTC and a BBQ. Participants receive a Captain's Bag full of donated products. The event culminates into an incredible awards dinner at Oakland's Restaurant
